In recent years, conversations about governing AI have mostly focused on how it impacts our work forces and the resilience of our democracies. Today, global divergence on regulatory paths for AI alongside a rapidly evolving geopolitical arena means the conversation on AI must expand to consider what AI innovations—and regulatory models—mean for power relations and democracy in an increasingly multipolar world.
Participants at this high–level panel will discuss how to effectively govern AI to bolster democratic resilience and equity domestically, in a geopolitical context where current and potential competitors have diverging innovation and regulation priorities.
This session brings together innovators, policymakers, and private sector leaders to map out a future of AI governance that safeguards our societies and democracies domestically, while still bolstering economies amid a geopolitical environment that is disrupted, uncertain, and fragmenting.
