Since 2012, we’ve tracked global megatrends. In 2025, we stepped beyond research into action, designing solutions that challenge the status quo and help the future arrive well for all.

Each year, we examine five evolving Megatrends, along with their dynamic subtrends, as a framework to make sense of today’s global landscape and the deeper forces driving tomorrow’s transformations. With insights from our expert community, we analyze the trends, the challenges they present, and how they signal pivotal opportunities for systemic change.
Building a futuristic leadership movement.
For over a decade, World in 2050 has cultivated a growing leadership movement and global network dedicated to co-creating bold, cross-sector collaborations. As the movement has expanded, so has the scale and impact of our work. Human-Centric.
Global affairs often center on governments, institutions, economies, and systems, and increasingly, the impact of emerging technologies. While these forces are critical, their significance lies in how they shape human lives, for better or worse. That’s why we focus on the human impact of global trends, especially the often-overlooked stories at the margins, where change is most deeply felt.
Intergenerational.
Shaping a better future means ensuring younger generations have the agency to influence it. We champion intergenerational inclusion, recognizing that the power to shape tomorrow must extend beyond traditional hierarchies and be shared with those who will live it.
Collaborative.
Collaboration is foundational for all of us at World in 2050. Through a practice known as collective intelligence, we co-create solutions by uniting voices across sectors, identities, geographies, and generations. We believe these uncommon collaborations spark solutions with the power to address today’s most urgent challenges in transformative ways.
A good humans club.
Our community is not your typical networking club and no one “pays to play.” It is a merit–based collective for the extraordinary architects of tomorrow: technologists, designers, leaders, and rebels who think beyond limits and want to do good.
World in 2050’s core staff, like its mission, is global, residing in three countries as well as across five states in the U.S.
Our wider team, a community of experts which includes The Expert Network (TEN), our Brain Trust, and our Senior Fellows, currently features nearly 100 experts from at least 12 countries and six continents.
